Aser Ventures, the pioneering investment platform at the intersection of sports, media, and technology has today announced the acquisition of its ELEVEN sports media businesses by the leading global sports entertainment platform DAZN.
From launching in a single market in 2015, ELEVEN has since become a global sports media destination delivering world-class entertainment, expanding in twelve additional countries and territories and via a global OTT through which tens of millions of fans engage with live content on their terms. ELEVEN also plays a key role in supporting the production, delivery, and distribution of live content on the groundbreaking digital platform FIFA+, and the creation of commercial opportunities related to the live content. The digital video publisher Team Whistle has further become a top ten ranked sports media property in the US, with more than 4 billion video views per month.
Andrea Radrizzani, Chairman of Aser Ventures said “I’m thrilled that ELEVEN and Team Whistle are now formally within the DAZN family, which will provide both DAZN and ELEVEN with new and complementary markets, synergies, and opportunities for growth. I’m looking forward to taking up an executive position on the board, and working closely with DAZN CEO Shay Segev and Marc Watson to build the leading global sports entertainment platform.”
This agreement comes in the wake of Aser’s many accomplishments in different spheres. These include overseeing the return of Leeds United, one of England’s most storied football clubs, to the Premier League, together with continued investment in the team and the club’s operations to ensure they remain competitive in the world’s most popular football league. A diverse array of growing companies have benefitted from Aser’s investment, with Aser’s expertise, innovation, and synergies propelling growth including Sponix, Creed Media, Sports Data Labs, and many more.
